Animate Orchestra Lewisham – A Young Person’s Orchestra for the 21st Century

Are you an adventurous musician interested in creating and performing your own music alongside people with similar interests?

In Animate Orchestra you can do just that.

With specialist tutors and world-class musicians as mentors and guides, our courses are fun, sociable and musically adventurous. Members are from a wide range of cultural backgrounds and our music reflects their skills, knowledge and interests.

 

What do I need to take part?

To take part, you should:

  • live or go to school in the London Borough of Lewisham;
  • be in school years 5 – 9
  • play an instrument, of any cultural background and with any level of experience – we welcome young people with skills in music technology into our designated music technology section;
  • ideally have access to your own instrument; and
  • be motivated and enthusiastic about creating your own music.

Monday 3 April 2017, 09.30 —15.30, Laban Building, Creekside, London SE8 3DZ

During this course participants will work alongside professional musicians in a unique, creative ensemble to compose their own original piece without sheet music.

Fees:

  • £10 (full fee)
  • £5 (50% sibling discount)
  • £3 (if in receipt of Pupil Premium)
